Service Description

This class covers a variety of art media and methods to work with them. Find your favorite art methods and materials and learn how to mix-and-match them into completed works of art. Supplies are provided for your first class. As you explore different materials, we help you build your personal art toolkit! We have many supplies available for purchase at the gallery. Upcoming Topics: April 9 - Basic oil painting. Learn the basics of oil painting and start your own small oil painting.  Learn rules and guidelines for working with oil paints and mediums  Step by step oil painting guided exercise - Bring a photo reference or use one of ours. April 16 - Tissue paper collage with alcohol ink. Learn how to make a textured "painting" with tissue papers and alcohol ink.  Learn the properties of different acrylic mediums for paper collage.  Learn various uses and techniques for alcohol inks.  Create your own abstract artwork. April 23 - "Breaking the Rectangle" Experiment with shaped supports for your painting or artwork.  Create and prepare your own shaped support using illustration board and primer.  Integrate painting, collage and/or low relief sculpture for your "expanded form".
