Jump into the wonderful world of watercolors with Sandy Yagel. Sandy is ready to introduce you to the joy of watercolor painting or expand on what you already know! Explore the magic of watercolor and the special effects unique to the medium. This guided class is perfect for beginners and more advanced painters alike. We will experience a range of techniques including color mixing, washes, layers, textures and more through painting a variety of subjects. **** Class membership package holders may book these sessions. To cover the exceptional costs of bringing in an outside specialist, these specific sessions require a supplemental $16 guest instructor fee alongside your active membership package. Class sessions will proceed as follows: Session 1 - "Autumn Beech Trees" (focus on wet into wet and an exercise practicing washes) ; Session 2 - "Pumpkins" (complementary colors for shadows with a bokeh background); Session 3 - Along the Drive” (a scene from the side of the road north of Frederick) ((more wet into wet, landscape)); Session 4 - “Flowers and Crystal” Still life subject matter using masking fluid. About the instructor: My journey into the world of watercolor may be a bit different from most artists. Other than the obligatory art class in middle school, I never took art classes until my first "sip and paint" class in 2015. I absolutely love exploring watercolors and seeing magic happen on my paper! Painting is opening my eyes to seeing God’s world in greater detail than ever before. I marvel at and appreciate the intricacies of color, shades and texture that God has woven into the world all around us!
